LTL Trucking Back

LTL, "less than a truckload", trucking is an available transport service for those whose shipping requirements will not fill an entire truckload.

Our LTL service entails collecting freight from multiple shippers and consolidating that freight into trailers for linehaul (movement of cargo greater than 1,500 km) to the delivering terminal, or to a hub terminal where the freight will be further sorted for additional linehauls.

Depending on the commodity's weight, density, value, stow ability and ease of handling, the National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC) is used to determine the class of the commodity to be shipped. Typically freight with a higher density will be rated in a lower class.

The main advantage to using LTL trucking is that a shipment may be transported for a fraction of the cost of hiring an entire trailer for an exclusive shipment.
